Every Verified listing was checked by a person: references, reviews, license and insurance. How we check

For contractors

Your Business Is Probably Already Here

Every contractor on this site has a description written about that business, from its own website, services and reviews. Claiming yours is free. Verified and Featured are how you stand out on the page homeowners compare you on.

What's different

Not Another Scraped Directory

  1. 01Written, Not Copied

    1,870 Listings, Each One Written

Every listing has its own description built from the business's website, its Google services and what its reviewers mention. Nothing is pasted from a feed, and no two listings in a trade open the same way.

  2. 02Checked by a Person

    Verified Means Someone Called

Before a contractor gets the Verified mark, a person calls the references, reads the reviews in full and confirms the license and insurance where the trade requires it. No software decides it.

  3. 03Rules in the Open

    Nothing Hidden About the Order

How every trade page is ordered is printed on this page. Paying never changes a Google rating or a review count, and Ray's picks and the guides aren't for sale.

What Homeowners See on a Trade Page

Every trade page is built the same way, in this order.

Ray's picks and the guides aren't for sale, and paying for Verified or Featured doesn't earn either. A Featured business can't also be a pick.

  1. FeaturedUp to three Featured contractorsAlways labeled Featured. When all three spots on a trade are taken, that trade is full.
  2. VerifiedEvery Verified contractorWith the Verified mark. A person has called their references and confirmed license and insurance.
  3. Ray's picksRay Croft's picksChosen by our contributing editor. Not for sale, and a Featured business can't also be a pick.
  4. Everyone elseBy Google rating, weighted by reviewsSo a 4.8 with 300 reviews sits above a 5.0 with three.

For Verified contractors

A Badge for Your Own Website

Verified contractors get a badge that links to their listing. Put it in your footer, on your about page or beside your reviews, and anyone who clicks it lands on your Verified listing.

Questions

Common Questions

Ask Us

Is a Listing on Lowcountry Trusted Pros Really Free?

Yes. The listing, claiming it and corrections are all free. You only pay if you choose Verified, Featured or a Spotlight.

My Business Is Already Listed. How Did It Get There?

Listings start from public business records and the business's own website. We list contractors who work in the Lowcountry, so nobody has to sign up first.

My Business Is Based in Savannah or Pooler. Can I Be Listed?

Yes, if you work here. Your listing says where you're based and which towns you serve, so homeowners know you're driving in.

How Do I Fix a Mistake on My Listing?

Send it with the form on this page or the one on our contact page. Corrections are free whether or not you've claimed the listing, and they're made within a week. That includes a business that has closed.

Can I Pay to Rank Higher?

Featured puts you among the first three businesses on one trade page, and it's always labeled Featured. Verified contractors also sort above unverified ones, because a person has checked them. Ray's picks can't be bought.

How Many Featured Spots Are There?

Three per trade page. Once a trade has three Featured contractors, it's full until one of them leaves. Ask about availability with the form on this page.

What Does Verified Check?

A person calls your references, reads your reviews in full, and confirms your license and insurance where the trade requires it.
