Hurricane Shutters and Storm Protection · Beaufort, SC
State SC Safe Home grants are for owner-occupied homes, which leaves out a good share of Beaufort, where close to 40 percent of occupied homes are rented. Landlords pay for shutters themselves, and tenants usually can't install anything permanent. In a condo building, the association often decides what goes over the openings. Ask whether the quote includes putting the shutters up before each storm.
