Shower Doors and Glass · the Lowcountry
Frameless shower glass, mirrors and tub enclosures make up most of this trade, and the work follows the housing. Bluffton and Okatie homes from the 2000s are swapping builder framed doors for frameless glass, and in Sun City and Hardeeville's 55+ communities many owners are turning tubs into walk-in showers. Humidity and daily use wear on hinges, seals and the caulk line.
Ask about glass thickness, hardware finish and whether the price includes a protective coating, and confirm they measure after the tile is set. Aging-in-place remodels are covered in remodel or move.
Let the tile set and the shower get finished before anybody measures for glass. A quarter inch off on a frameless panel is a problem you'll see every morning.
