Attic insulation in many 1980s Hilton Head houses may have settled or been disturbed through decades of repairs, and raised houses across the area often have insulation under the floor that sags or holds water.

A water stain on a ceiling is the last stop, not the first. I'd want to know what's behind it before anyone patches over it. Fix the roof or the pipe, then the drywall.

Roof and metal painting, specialty design work and wallpaper hanging round out the list at Palmetto Painting Company, a Bluffton-based painter for homes and commercial buildings. The core work is interior and exterior painting, cabinets, doors and furniture, plus drywall repair.

The list also covers new construction, historic restoration, drywall contouring, acoustical ceilings, roof coatings and pressure washing.
A Beaufort drywall crew on Mulrain Road that installs and repairs drywall and works Saturdays. Customers single out the workmanship.
David Gaskins Sr. started Insulation by Cohen's in the Charleston area, by the company's account, and his sons David and Ethan later joined to spread it across the Carolinas and Georgia. The website says family owned since 1976 and lists branches as far off as Virginia, Pennsylvania and Florida, so the Kingsbury Street location in Hardeeville is one of many.
Drywall repair and interior and exterior painting share the bill with house cleaning at Tanya's Home Services in Port Royal. The cleaning side covers maid service, move-related jobs, Airbnb turnovers, after-party cleanups and commercial work, and the crew also pressure washes driveways and home exteriors.
Ceiling textures stand out on the list at Big John's Painting on Honey Hill Circle in Ridgeland: knockdown, orange peel, acoustic ceilings and textured ceiling removal. It also does interior and exterior painting, concrete staining, power washing, and drywall and deck work.

Pro Drywall & Paint Services keeps an address on Browns Cove Road North in Ridgeland. Its Google listing names drywall as the trade and gives little more.
Drywall contractor Allen's Drywall works from Big Road in Beaufort. The Google listing has no hours or service details beyond that.
Since 2000, according to its own description, Rudas Drywall & Painting has worked out of Sutton Court in Bluffton, hanging and repairing drywall and painting interiors and exteriors for homes and commercial clients. It lists special coatings and general repairs too, and advertises a customer guarantee with warranty options, and it gives estimates at no charge.
Removal of old fiberglass and loose-fill insulation comes first on the list at Sealtight Insltn, which goes by Sealtight Spray Foam on its website. From Pin Oak Street in Bluffton it installs open and closed cell spray foam for homes and businesses, pitches it for noise reduction as well as air leaks, and does drywall repair.

Roofing is one piece of the work at Your Exterior Pros, a Savannah company on Carolan Street that also lists a South Carolina office number. The site covers shingle, metal, flat, slate and tile roofs, commercial TPO and modified bitumen, roof coatings and tarping, along with siding, windows, doors, gutters, decks, porches, painting and exterior carpentry.
Southern Industries Home Improvements gets credit from reviewers for no-pressure sales visits, knowledgeable staff, fast installs and plenty of shower remodels. The Pooler, Georgia office on US Highway 80 is one of more than a dozen across the Southeast for a company that dates itself to the late 1960s.
Door repairs of all kinds, ceiling fixes, grab bars, curtain rods and light fixtures are the jobs that keep showing up in reviews for Mr. Handyman of Greater Savannah and Hilton Head, along with courteous techs. The location works from Governor Treutlen Road in Pooler, Georgia, and its Google list goes further than most handymen: shower, tub and walk-in tub installs, bathroom remodels and drywall work, for homes and businesses.
Sand gnat control and honeybee relocation are two of the less common services from Northwest Exterminating, which runs its Savannah-area office from US Highway 80 in Pooler, Georgia, and lists Hilton Head Island and Beaufort among the places it covers. The company says it is family-owned and has been around since 1951.
Metal and wood framing, drywall and acoustical ceilings come with the insulation work at Creative Building Solutions, a Savannah company on Bryce Industrial Drive whose stated service area reaches Hilton Head. Spray foam, fiberglass and blown insulation are the specialty, for new construction, existing homes and commercial jobs.

Team Henry Builders works out of Queens Road on St. Helena Island and is listed on Google as a drywall contractor. Hours run 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
