Ask what the manufacturer's warranty says about coastal exposure, and whether the installer's labor is covered separately. In Beaufort's historic district, siding changes on contributing buildings go to the Historic Review Board first.
Siding is just the raincoat. I'd ask about the flashing and house wrap behind it, because that's what keeps the wall dry when the wind drives rain sideways.

Decks, siding, roofing and painting all fall under Herrera Construction, which works from Traders Cross in Okatie and covers Hardeeville too. The company says it has served the Hardeeville area for 10 years.

The site covers shingle, metal, flat, slate and tile roofs, commercial TPO and modified bitumen, roof coatings and tarping, along with siding, windows, doors, gutters, decks, porches, painting and exterior carpentry.
Southern Industries Home Improvements gets credit from reviewers for no-pressure sales visits, knowledgeable staff, fast installs and plenty of shower remodels. The Pooler, Georgia office on US Highway 80 is one of more than a dozen across the Southeast for a company that dates itself to the late 1960s.
Hurricane impact windows and accordion shutters share the catalog with vinyl and wood-clad replacement windows at Window World of Savannah, which runs out of Columbia Drive in Pooler, Georgia, and lists Bluffton on its website. The Hardeeville-based company also does Hardie plank and vinyl siding, stone, framing, painting and driveways for homes, and its site puts its time in the trade past two decades and says it's one of James Hardie's fiber cement siding contractors.
