Siding · Beaufort, SC
Most of the historic district's buildings are wood frame, and on contributing ones, siding changes need Historic Review Board approval. The useful skill there is replacing only the rotted boards and matching the old profile. In the city's 1960s and 70s ranches, siding may already have been covered over once, so the first job is finding out what layer is actually on the wall.
